It’s summer, so ice coffee is a staple in our routine – but boozy iced coffee is becoming the new favourite. This week we were having our very own pancake breakfast because of Calgary Stampede FOMO, and it was the perfect pairing.
First off, there is truly no other way to start a weekend morning than with coffee (unless you move right to a Caesar or mimosa). Secondly, Frangelico and Kahlúa are such a subtle addition to iced coffee that you won’t even feel like you’re drinking alcohol, it will just feel like a warm hug. A great breakfast cocktail if there ever was one.
Plus, it’s simple and inexpensive to make but will wow your pals.
- 1 cup of coffee, at room temperature or chilled
- Half and half (however much your heart desires, we used roughly 2 tbs)
- 1oz of Frangelico
- 1oz of Kahlúa
- Ice
Start off by brewing your coffee, however you usually do at home but we suggest making it slightly stronger than normal as you’ll be adding ice to the finished product. The Kahlua and Frangelico will add a touch of sweetness to the coffee. Set aside the coffee to cool, or refrigerate/freeze to speed up the process). Grab a glass (we used highballs), and add ice. Then add 1oz of Frangelico followed by 1oz of Kahlúa. Top with cream and your done!
It’s so so good – trust us on this one. We recommended indulging for breakfast. You won’t regret it.
