Check Out Your Local Farmer’s Market

We spent the day getting in on a little Farmers’ Market action. There’s only a couple of markets that run on Sunday’s when we’re all off work to be able to get together, but luckily one of them is awesome – the Leslieville Farmers’ Market. It has everything from local fruits and vegetables aplenty to honey, fresh bread, beer and more.

We went buck wild and picked up some delicious strawberries, some amazing pickles from Spade and Spoon, local honey (which we had cocktail plans for!) and a mushroom pizza for when we got back to my place.

Once we had done our vendor shopping, we then sat down to enjoy some croissants and beers from Rorschach Brewery, which is just around the corner and soak in the sun. The beer had tea in it, which made it a really nice pairing with our croissants – like a boozy tea time.

There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy a Farmer’s Market, but we highly recommend perusing all of the vendors to see what they have to offer and head home with at least a couple of locally-made products. Also, if there’s a local beer or wine vendor on hand, definitely grab a drink and a baked good of sorts and take a little time to soak in the atmosphere and sun before you head out!
