Ginger Ginseng Iced Tea

Ginger Ginseng Tea Recipe

This drink is super simple for a reason: it’s intended to cure a hangover. This iced tea is non alcoholic and contains ginger, ginseng and honey. The combination is not a coincidence. Ginger is one of the best remedies for settling an upset stomach, which is often a huge part of being hungover. Ginseng is known to reduce blood alcohol levels, as well the severity of a hangover. And honey contains fructose which will help your body metabolize and burn off any alcohol still in your system. So overall, it’s got your back.

This iced tea is also easy to make, because well, otherwise you would probably just pound back gatorade. And we don’t blame you (I’ll have the red, please). This iced tea is also very crushable, which is good because you’ll probably need to crush like three of these to feel like a normal person again.

We made these babies to go with our ramen recipe – also great for easing a hangover in our opinion.

*The below recipe serves three.

Start by making the tea. We let four tea bags steep in eight cups of hot water for about 10 minutes. You’ll want to add the honey at this point, so it dissolves while the tea is still hot. Then, we stuck the tea in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to officially become iced tea. Grab three glasses and fill them with ice. Cut the ginger root length-wise to get long pieces you can place inside the glass. Then add the lemon slices. Finish by filling each glass with the iced tea and serve.
