Self-Care with DIY Bath Salts

Self-Care with DIY Bath Salts

It’s January, so we’re not only broke AF, we’re also in need of some serious self-care. The holidays are always so busy, and between shuttling ourselves to various family events and parties (all with charcuterie boards) our bodies take a bit of a beating. So this month, we’re doing a detox. We’ll be cutting out alcohol, eating healthy and giving our bodies some love.

The first order of business is giving our bodies a little TLC. For us, that meant making our own bath salts packed with essential oils so we can chill out in the tub. We chose chamomile, lavender and rose, all of which are totally relaxing scents.

These bath salts are also super easy to make and are also great for gifting (think Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, stocking stuffers and birthdays). Everyone loves baths, and everyone likes making their bath better – so you can’t lose on the gifting front. So wrap a ribbon around these salts and get ready to impress those nearest and dearest.

This recipe will make 8 oz total of bath salts:

  1. Add the epsom salt and baking soda in a bow, stirring to combine.
  2. Next, add the sweet almond and essential oils, stirring thoroughly.
  3. Add half of the salt mixture to the jar, followed by a layer of dried flowers.
  4. Fill the jar with the salt mixture and top with the remaining dried flowers.

We made a damn good, super healthy bevy to sip during the bath salt-making process, a vanilla mint matcha latte. It got us super pumped for the beginning of our detox month. You can grab the recipe here.
