Create a Halloween Candy Bar

Create a Halloween Candy Bar

It’s not a Halloween party without massive amounts of candy. Our Halloween bash was over the top, so we were not about to under deliver in the candy department.

You’ll want to create stations within your party that encourage social interaction – and a candy bar is perfect. It makes it easy to break the ice and make new friends – especially if you’ve got some nostalgic items in the mix.

In our opinion, the best way to create a Halloween candy bar everyone will love is to include a mix of Halloween specific goodies and classic candy that is just simply delicious. Reason being, I bet you don’t know many people that love candy corn or black liquorice (they’re wrong, but whatever). Not all Halloween themed candy is actually good, in fact a lot of it is bad. Adding in some classic items that still capture Halloween colours (think purple, green, red, orange) work well.

Our pièce de résistance within the candy bar were our eyeball donuts. We made these by dipping plain donuts in melted white chocolate, topping with sprinkles and adding a gummy eyeball in the centre. It’s super simple, but a good Halloween party is all in the details my friends.

We’ve broken down everything we included in our candy bar as well as our advice for how to set it up.

You’ll want to start by purchasing the clear jars in various sizes and shapes. We recommend at least a couple of tall jars to go in the back and establish some height. Take note of the sizes before purchasing your candy – you’ll want to map out which candy you’d like in each jar before you make your purchases to ensure you get enough to fill each jar (you’ll be kicking yourself if you have to make a second trip!).

Once you have everything you need, it’s easy to set up – the only real hard part is restraining yourself from snacking during the process. Place the tallest jars in the back and the smaller jars in the front, making sure to alternate sizes and shapes. Place the candy in the matching jar and insert the spoons and tongs in each jar so that your guests can dig right in!

Once you set your guests expectations with the candy bar, you better deliver with the drink station. Get the lowdown on our Halloween drinking lab here.
