It’s a scary and unprecedented time globally right now, but we hope everyone is safe, healthy and practicing social distancing.
We know first-hand that social distancing can be tough both mentally and physically, especially if you’re in a small space or alone. Which is we’ve put together a stay-at-home bucket list that you can turn too if you’re in need for some inspiration or motivation to make the best use of the time that we all suddenly have indoors. And because we’re us, we thought this bucket list also needed a cocktail companion and matching playlist.
The three of us have only been connecting online these days and have embracing the idea of a virtual happy hour. It’s our way of trying to make the best of the situation, and ensure we’re still socializing so we don’t feel isolated given the circumstances. We highly encourage it. You can use slack, Zoom (who have some pretty sweet backgrounds you can use, handy if you haven’t cleaned your house), Microsoft teams, Skype and more to virtually connect.
Over the last week, social media has been flooded with the notion of a quarantine martini or quarantini. So, we thought we’d share our own take on the trend. The original quarantini recipe is made with gin and Emergen-C – which we thought was brilliant because we love them both – but Emergen-C wasn’t entirely stoked on the idea of their product being mixed with alcohol. We liked the idea of an immune boosting cocktail (and let’s be honest, a recipe that was very boozy), so we decided to play around with some our favourite liquor and see if we couldn’t come up with something to help our friends get through self-isolation. What we came up with was a boozy bevie not for the faint of heart.
Equal parts:
- Gin
- Tequila
- Rum
- Chartreuse
- Dash of anxiety
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously (seriously, get out all that pent up energy) for 10 seconds and strain into a martini glass. Cheers your virtual drinking partner and then sip, repeat.
