Check Off a Stay-at-Home Bucket List
We hope everyone is safe, healthy and practicing social distancing. We’re doing our part to try to flatten the curve right now, and we know first-hand that it can be tough, but it’s a strategy that saved thousands of lives both during the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 and, more recently, in Mexico City during the 2009 flu pandemic, so we know it’s the right thing to do.
We often fantasize about all the things we would do if we only had the time, but it can be tough to find motivation with the time we now have under these circumstances. This past week all three of us have shed some tears, had moments of anxiety, listlessness and felt completely lost.
We know we’re not alone. So we’ve tried to channel the energy we do have into a stay-at-home bucket list we can all benefit from, and try and turns these sour-ass lemons into some mildly delicious lemonade. Our goal with Best Day of the Week has always been to share ideas for having a fun time with friends or on your own, and we’re trying to approach our ideas for social distancing in the same way. We’ll all be checking off items and sharing on our Instagram, so please follow along and definitely share and tag any items that you complete as well. It’ll help keep us all closer together.
This list has a little bit of everything. There’s some things you can do just for fun, like dress up fancy, make a good ol’ fashioned fort or draw your self-portrait, other items are for relaxing, learning, playing, staying connected, active and more. Because sometimes you’re feeling inspired to be productive, and other times you just need to chill out or have a little fun for mental health’s sake. We get it.
Many of the ideas in here we already have dedicated blog posts for – like planting from seeds, learning a new hobby (tarot cards anyone?) or culinary skill (how about making pasta from scratch?) and playing board games (we have two posts with suggestions). Plus, in case you’re wondering, our favourite trilogy to binge-watch is Lord of the Rings.
Let us know what you think of the list in the comments, and if you have any other ideas for adding to it please let us know, we’d love that.

- A glass half-full mentality
There’s no right or wrong way to get started. Pick what calls out to you the most at any given moment and you do you. This is an ongoing list that you can revisit periodically and lean on for inspiration.
And we’ve got a cocktail for you too. We’re jumping on the quarantini bandwagon with our own recipe. It’s more boozy than immune boosting, but it’s delicious and that’s what matters right now. Grab the recipe here.
Walking on Sunshine
And don’t it feel good? This playlist is stacked with bright, feel-good tunes. Because we all need this right now.
