Our All-Time Favourite Breakfast Recipes
If you want to make it the best day of the week, you’ve gotta start with an awesome breakfast. I mean, it’s the most important meal of the day after all.
If you haven’t noticed by now, we’re big on breakfast. We like it both sweet and savoury and preferably with a cocktail (we also have a round-up of our favourite breakfast cocktails you can check out here).
So we’ve put together a list of our favourite breakfast recipes, and can assure you there’s an option for every occasion.
Best-Ever Pancakes, With Passionfruit Maple Syrup
No exaggeration, these are the best pancakes we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot of pancakes). Plus if you wanna make pancakes fancy, just add passionfruit maple syrup and they become totally worthy of a special occasion. Grab the recipe here.
Perfect for: impressing your friends, you’re of the YOLO mentality, you’re big on passionfruit
Breakfast Pizza
Yes, you heard us right. Breakfast Pizza is definitely our go-to when there’s a hangover involved. Because let’s be honest, most of them time when you’re hungover you could go right to eating pizza, so this is kind of like the best of both worlds. Plus, it’s way easier to make than it looks. Learn how to make it here.
Perfect for: when you’ve got a group, you’re after something savoury, you’re a bit (or a lot) hungover
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl
It’s as delicious as it is pretty. Smoothie bowls are all the rage for a reason – they’re real good. What I especially like about them is that sometimes I want granola and would like to eat it with something that’s thicker than almond milk, but not as heavy as yogurt. The solution? Just dump a smoothie right in there. And that’s how the smoothie bowl came to be. We’ve got our recipe for you here.
Perfect for: when you wanna be healthy, you’re doing it or the ‘gram, summer mornings
Pumpkin Pie Yogurt Parfait
The inspiration behind this recipe came from fruit-on-the-bottom yogurts. We thought, imagine if the fruit on the bottom was actually a relatively healthy version of pumpkin pie filling? So, it became a reality. You’ll want this recipe on hand throughout September and October. We’ve got you here.
Perfect for: the Fall season, when you really want pumpkin pie, an early morning brekkie (you can prep it overnight!)
Rice Krispie Coated French Toast, with Cranberry Orange Maple Syrup
My inner child looses it over this french toast. And my adult self gets stoked about the syrup. We rolled traditional french toast in Rice Krispie’s before flipping it in a pan and throwing it in the oven. The end result was crispy on the outside and super soft in the inside. Heaven. We’ve got the recipe here.
Perfect for: special occasions, slow mornings, when you can’t decide between cereal and french toast
The Epic Waffle Board
This is the breakfast of all breakfasts. Pretty much we put out waffles alongside all of their best friends (strawberries, blueberries, bananas, figs, whipped cream, butter, maple syrup) and I can’t think of anyone who would be disappointed walking into this. If you agree, get the lowdown on how we did it here.
Perfect for: when you’ve got company, you’re after an over-the-top brekkie, you don’t actually wanna cook
Banana Bread Overnight Oats
I love overnight oats. They’re everyone’s meal prep go-to because they’re super easy to make, especially when you’re doing it in batches. We had a handful of ripe bananas and really wanted actual banana bread but were trying to be healthy. Which is how banana bread overnight oats happened. We promise you’ll love them too. Our recipe is waiting for you here.
Perfect for: weekday brekkie, when you’ve got ripe bananas, you’re on a budget
